monographie de Simone Simon
parue aux éditions Arnaud Bizalion, en avril 2025
In the mid-70s, Simone Simon embarked on a career as a fashion photographer, a daring choice in an era and time and in an environment where women were on the other side of the lens. From the 2000s onwards, she invested herself in an artistic approach, moving away from purely aesthetic considerations in favour of a narrative and social intention, in which the testimony of anonymous a large part. And when the human figure disappears from her images, it is in favour of urban shots and natural environments that ‘make a landscape’, and yet in which our presence remains. We enter into a state of contemplation, faced with our own traces and the vibration of the living.
